Pork And Sauerkraut

3 lbs. boneless pork shoulder
1 large onion, sliced
2 medium turnips, peeled and sliced
4 carrots, chopped
1 (32 oz.) jar sauerkraut
1 tbsp. whole caraway seed
1 tsp. Mrs. Dash seasoning
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can of low-fat cream of celery soup

Remove as much fat as possible off of meat. Place the meat in a slow cooker with a little water. Cook at low for 4 hours. Remove meat from slow cooker and set aside. Pour off fat and liquid in slow cooker; discard. In slow cooker combine onion, turnips, carrots, sauerkraut and caraway seed. Slice meat into 1 slices. Add meat on top of vegetables. Season meat with Mrs. Dash seasoning and pepper; spoon celery soup on top of meat. Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours until vegetables are cooked through and tender. Stir ingredients together in slow cooker before serving. Makes 6 servings. |
