Bean Casserole

Bean Casserole 1 can (16 oz.) baked beans
1 can (15.5 oz.) butter beans
1 can (15.5 oz.) kidney beans
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. ketchup
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
4 bacon strips, cooked (optional)

Drain off some of the liquid from the three cans of beans. Pour the beans into a two-quart casserole dish. Brown beef with onion in frying pan on stove; drain off fat. Add and stir together meat mixture, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper into casserole dish. Place optional bacon strips on top. Bake in 350-degree oven for 1 hour. Makes about 6 servings.

Note: Any brand of beans will do but these are our favorites:

Bush’s Best Baked Beans Vegetarian or any variety
Aunt Nellie’s Reber Butter Beans/w Molasses
Bush Kidney Beans
