* A smaller mouth jar can be used but the fabric circle will have to be cut to 5
** I used the Halloween M&M chocolate pieces
Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a bowl and mix well. Measure out the remaining ingredients and put each one in a separate bowl. Slowly add each ingredient into the jar using the bottom of the glass to pack and to level off each layer. Starting with the flour mixture on the bottom of the jar, layer the ingredients into the jar as follows: nuts, M&Ms, raisins, brown sugar and then oatmeal on top.
Place the lid on the jar. Center the circle of fabric on top of the lid. Screw on the band.
To create the card: From your computer, print out outside of card onto the brown paper to your printer. Print out the inside of card onto the white sheet of paper to your printer.
Cut out the cards from the two sheets of paper. Fold the brown card in half with wording facing you. Fold the white card in half so wording is folded inside. Open up cards blank sides up on table. Spread some glue on one folded blank side of the white card and glue onto the blank side of the brown card as shown in illustration A. (Make sure that the wording on both cards are reading in the same direction before gluing down) Fold card and punch a hole in the upper left hand corner.
Take the purchased or handmade pin and pin into the front side of just the brown card as shown in illustration B. (If you decide not to decorate the front of the card with a pin, you can also decorate the front with purchased Halloween self-stick stickers or stamp a ghoulish decoration with your favorite Halloween rubber stamp.)
Insert the raffia into the hole in the card, wrap the raffia around the band on the jar and tie into a bow as shown in photo at top of page.
